British Austin Armoured Car Mark IV, Ireland, 1919.

Austin Mk. 4 (Fourth series) Armoured Car, next to the barracks (rear) of the Royal Irish Constabulary (R.I.C.) in Ennis, Clare Country, Ireland, November 1919.

The Austin shown in the photograph, belonging to the 17th Tank Battalion (which only used Armored Cars of the type Austin Mk. IV, instead of tanks), destined to Ireland in January 1919, possibly be one of the Austin Armored Cars Mk. 4 that were severely damaged in France during the last battles of the Great War in 1918.

This vehicle would later be repaired, as perceived damage in the pictures do not seem to be very serious (see the following post of the Austin No. 2 destroyed, and notice the "T" in the cylinder of the turret support that corresponds to the "T" in red photographed vehicle in Ireland).

To more effectively break the silhouette of the vehicle in urban areas, was added a dark horizontal stripe (probably green) on the original camouflage two-tone blue and brown used in France during 1918.

El Austin que aparece en la fotografía, perteneciente al 17º Batallón de Tanques (que sólo utilizó coches blindados del tipo Austin Mk. IV, en lugar de carros de combate), destinado a Irlanda en enero de 1919,  posiblemente sea uno de los Coches Blindados Austin Mk. 4 que resultaron severamente dañados en Francia durante los últimos combates de la Gran Guerra en 1918.

Este vehículo posteriormente sería reparado, ya que los daños que se perciben en las fotografías no parecen ser de mucha gravedad (véase en el siguiente Post el Austin nº 2 destruido, y adviértase la "T" en el cilindro de apoyo de la torreta que corresponde a la "T" en rojo del vehículo fotografiado en Irlanda).

Para romper más efectivamente la silueta del vehículo en zonas urbanas, se le añadió una franja horizontal de color oscuro (muy probablemente verde), sobre el camuflaje original bitonal azul y marrón usado en Francia durante 1918.
